It enables auditing and visibility across multiple depots to give companies the information and tools to manage compliance to the highest standard.SilkThread® O Licence helps transport operators and hauliers comply with the Undertakings of the Operator’s Licence – this is a requirement for anyone running vehicles over 3.5t. auditing their operation, managing drivers’ hours, vehicle servicing, defect reporting, working time, agency drivers and many other vital aspects of transport compliance.SilkThread® Health and Safety enables logistics businesses to ensure they comply with their Health and safety requirements, creating their H&S management system, managing risk assessments, H&S control onsite, workplace transport risk, occupational road risk, site welfare and access and other specific H&S risks.

The product exists in the Cloud, so all you need is a working internet connection.

Yes, it is a web application and designed to be used on a PC/laptop.

No, as a Cloud based system SilkThread® does require an internet connection.

The software sits in the Cloud, so you don't have to download it. You just access it via the internet with your log on details which we will provide.

The initial licence period is 12 months and then it is automatically renewed for successive periods of three months unless notice is given.


SilkThread® charges consist of a licence fee, a per depot charge and an initial set up payment. Payment is monthly with the first 3 months payable at the start of the contract.

Yes, our preferred method is monthly payments by direct debit.

Yes. Credit and debit card payments are accepted.

Costs vary depending on company size and start from £39 per month. Please contact us for a demo and a quotation for your company.


No, but there is a charge for each additional depot and further set up/support is required for extra depots.

Yes, this can be accommodated. Just let us know when you would like to add an extra depot and we will do the rest. There is a small extra charge for each additional depot.

There is no limit, but they should all have a reason to use the system and they must all have their own unique login. It is not permitted to have more than one person using a login on SilkThread®; this is crucial to maintain the SilkThread® audit trail.

Yes. The software works with management teams which may have a number of operating centres under their control. For SilkThread® O Licence an additional depot is required to be set up on the system for each O Licence that a management team have under their control

System Security & Cloud Space

No, but this is why we charge extra for each depot, to accommodate the extra storage you will need.

The SilkThread® system is hosted on SSD-based cloud servers and uses SSL (Secure Sockets Layers) to encrypt HTTP connections. All passwords are stored with non-reversible hashing methods.

Only those people in your organisation with the appropriate logins can access it. In addition, Labyrinth super users and the appointed consultant working on your account can also see it.

Yes, you can see who has added evidence and made any changes to the answers. You can also see the date and time the changes were made.


The system is very simple and companies do not require a lot of technical support. Each customer receives support for set up and training as part of the first year’s licence fee. Further support is available via telephone.

As often as necessary: we will change it if legislation or best practice guidance changes or when we make enhancements to system functionality. Users will be alerted to any changes.

Yes. We will also advise you by email and via messages on SilkThread®.

We work hard to check that the system is up to date and have information feeds from various sources including Trade Bodies, Expert Forums and our own SilkThread® consultants. We feed these into SilkThread® when applicable.

As often as required, if there are changes which impact on the documents.
